ARABESQUE

A fabric collection digitally printed, inspired by the beautiful country Morocco.

What is Arabesque?

"The arabesque is a form of artistic decoration consisting of 'surface decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing foliage, tendrils' or plain lines, often combined with other elements."

INSPIRATION

When starting the design process, it is important to have a source of inspiration. For this project, my inspiration came from Morocco.

BREAKING DOWN THE PROCESS

Next, I took from the inspiration and created motifs.

I learned that geometric designs like these take a lot of precision! I made my own arabesque design using Photoshop.

Using a variety of motifs, I created 6 prints, some that vary in color-ways and size. I created this collection for home-furnishing products.

TEXTURE MAPPING

Texture mapping is a nice way to visualize the prints in a final product.
